Pastoral Counseling with Dr. David Pendergrass
I have over 20 years of experience providing pastoral counseling and coaching to individuals and couples of all ages. My work has included helping people navigate marriage and family challenges, emotional struggles, and spiritual growth. Over the years, I have had the privilege of walking alongside people from many different backgrounds—young adults, parents, professionals, and retirees—helping them find clarity, healing, and direction.
My academic background includes undergraduate and graduate training in biblical studies and counseling-related fields, and I continue to bring together solid scholarship with practical, compassionate care. My approach is relational, down-to-earth, and deeply informed by years of walking with people through both everyday challenges and life-changing crises.
Over the years, I’ve walked with people through:
Grief and loss
Trauma, anxiety, and stress
Premarital counseling
Relational difficulties (marriage, family, friendships, church life)
Sin struggles and addictions
Theological questions and faith challenges
Bible questions and spiritual growth
Emotional struggles and minor disorders (burnout, discouragement, unhealthy patterns)
My goal is to provide a safe, compassionate space where you can share your story, explore your struggles, and receive encouragement and biblical guidance for the journey ahead.

A Few Testimonials
“I’ve known David for almost 10 years now, and we have walked together through many challenges. He has been a helpful advocate, friend, support person and consultant in many areas of life, both professional and personal. He has a wealth of knowledge and great experience that solidly anchors him in truth, which is essential for a counseling professional helping others navigate the complex challenges of life in a broken world. He is a wonderful mix of knowledge, wise application, experience, and compassion. His scriptural expertise is deep, as is his desire to appropriately apply God’s word to life areas without exception. I am so blessed to have him in my life!” Brock Caffee, LCMFT, Marriage and Family Therapist, Founder of Family Strategies Counseling and Coaching, Developer of NorthStar Leadership Coaching System

David was personable, knowledgeable and exceedingly well at extracting information from us to ensure that we discuss any potential issues prior to beginning our Christ-Centered marriage. FAQ
Q: Do I need to pay before booking?
Yes. All sessions and packages are paid upfront to confirm your spot. Once you click the button you can pay via Paypal.
Q: Do you accept insurance?
Because these sessions are offered as pastoral counseling and coaching, they are not considered clinical mental health services. For that reason, insurance providers do not cover the cost of these sessions. All appointments are private-pay. Many people find this approach gives them more privacy and flexibility than traditional insurance-based counseling.
Q: Can I pay with Zelle or Venmo?
Yes. While most clients pay securely online with PayPal, I also accept Zelle and Venmo. If you’d prefer to use one of these, please email me directly. Once payment is confirmed, I’ll send you a private booking link to schedule your session(s).
Q: How do packages work?
When you purchase a package, you’ll receive a booking link to schedule each session at your convenience. Packages should be used within 6 months.
Q: Can I mix 60-minute and 90-minute sessions in a package?
Packages are locked to one length (either all 60-minute or all 90-minute sessions). If you’d like a mix, you can book individual sessions.
Q: Can I reschedule a session?
A: Yes. Sessions can be rescheduled up to 24 hours before your appointment.
Q: Can non-Christians meet with you?
A: Absolutely. While my approach is faith-based, I welcome anyone seeking guidance, encouragement, or a safe space to process life’s struggles.
